Some sessions just feel like pure sunshine warm, wild, and full of soul! This family session at Miami Beach was all of that and more.

When Nicole and her beautiful tribe of boys showed up barefoot and grinning, I knew we were in for something fun! We let the kids climb rocks, run wild in the sea breeze, and just be themselves. No forced smiles. No awkward poses. Just connection, movement, and the kind of fleeting moments that end up meaning everything.

That’s what I love most about family sessions by the beach, there is space for real stories to unfold. Your kids don’t need to be on their best behaviour. In fact, I hope they’re not. I want them muddy, sandy, belly-laughing and wrapped up in your arms. I want the chaos and the calm, because that’s what family is.

This shoot was full of those in-between moments I live for, a toddler scaling rocks like a baby goat, soft snuggles on the sand, and the kind of laughter that carries on the wind. And that last frame? Mum walking toward the ocean, two littlies trailing behind like duckling, that one stopped me in my tracks.

Miami Beach always delivers. That soft, golden light. The open stretch of sand. Rock pools tucked away in the cliffs. It’s one of my favourite places for family photography on the Gold Coast, there’s plenty of room to move, to play and to soak up a slow afternoon together.
